Washington has a continued competency requirement, which includes eight (8) continuing education hours every year for RNs and LPNs, and thirty (30) hours every 2 years for ARNPs. CE Requirements for Washington Nursing License Renewal
Washington RNs and LPNs must complete eight (8) continuing education hours and 96 practice hours every year. ARNPs must complete thirty (30) hours of continuing education every 2 years and have an active certification for the area of advanced practice. ARNPs with prescriptive authority must complete fifteen (15) additional hours of pharmacology. Washington nurses must complete a 6-hour suicide prevention course one time on initial licensure.
