CE Requirements for Utah Nursing License Renewal
Utah RNs and LPNs must satisfy a continuing competency requirement. You can satisfy this requirement by completing at least 400 hours of licensed practice in the past two years, completing at least 200 hours of licensed practice and 15 contact hours of CE in the past two years, or completing 30 contact hours of CE. Utah APRNs must maintain national certification. APRNs with prescriptive authority must complete at least 4 hours of approved continuing education in controlled substance prescribing every two years, including: 3.5 hours of approved controlled substance education and .5 hours from DOPL’s online controlled substance tutorial.
