All Alaska licensed practical nurses (LPNs) are required to complete thirty (30) hours of continuing education every two-year renewal cycle. Alaska LPN License Renewal Requirements
All licensed practical nurses licensed in Alaska must complete 30 hours of continuing education each license renewal period. All 30 hours of continuing education are electives, meaning you can choose the topics that are relevant to your nursing practice and interests to meet your continuing education requirements. There are no mandatory continuing education topics or courses. However, to meet the continuing competency requirements for Alaska, you must also complete either 30 hours of professional nursing activity (unpaid) or have at least 320 hours of nursing employment during the licensing period.
