CE Requirements for New Jersey Nursing License Renewal
New Jersey RNs, LPNs, and APNs are required to complete thirty (30) contact hours of continuing education every two years. All licensees must complete 1 hour on continuing education on the prescription of opioid drugs, including alternatives to opioids for managing and treating pain, and the risks and signs of opioid abuse, addiction, and diversion. RNs and APNs must complete 1 hour of continuing education in Organ and Tissue Recovery and Donation. APNs must also complete a 2-hour course on End-of-Life care each renewal.
