Florida Licensed Practical Nurse CEU Requirements
All Florida licensed practical nurses, (LPNs) are required to complete sixteen (16) elective hours of continuing education each 2-year license renewal period, as well as additional mandated courses. Florida LPN License Renewal Requirements
All licensed practical nurses in Florida must complete 16 elective hours of continuing education each license renewal period, as well as additional mandated courses. The mandated courses required for each license renewal are a 2-hour course on the Prevention of Medical Errors, a 2-hour course on Nursing Laws and Rules, and a 2-hour course on Human Trafficking. Every other renewal, a 2-hour course on Recognizing Impairment in the Workplace is required. Every third renewal, a 2-hour course on Domestic Violence is required. During first renewal, a one-time requirement of a 1-hour course on HIV/AIDS is required.

When is the deadline for Licensed Practical Nurse re-licensure in Florida?
Florida nurses are renewed by department in three groups, group 1,2, and 3. Group 1’s license expires April 30, 2024, group 2’s license expires July 31, 2024, and group 3’s license expires April 30, 2025. \
