Idaho APRN License Renewal Requirements
All nurses licensed in the state of Idaho must complete continuing education each 2-year license renewal period. APRNs must complete thirty (30) hours of continuing education, which include 10 hours of pharmacology if you have prescriptive authority. Elective hours can be any courses the licensee wants, including courses relevant to the licensee’s nursing practice or interests. All our courses are ANCC accredited and will count towards your contact hour requirement.

There are no mandatory continuing education topics or courses so you can take whatever topics are most relevant to your area of practice and interest. If you have prescriptive authority, your thirty (30) hours must include ten (10) hours of pharmacology.
Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required to complete 8 hours of one-time training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.
