Nevada APRN License Renewal Requirements
Nevada APRNs are required to complete forty-five (45) contact hours of continuing education, fifteen (15) of which should be directly related to the licensee’s specialty. Of the fifteen (15) additional hours the APRN must complete, a 2-hour course on suicide prevention must be completed every four (4) years and a 2-hour substance use and abuse course completed every renewal cycle, as well as maintain a portfolio pursuant to NAC 632.2563. Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required to complete 8 hours of one-time training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.
