Kentucky RNs are required to complete fourteen (14) hours of continuing education each year.
When is the nurse re-licensure deadline for Kentucky Registered nurses?
Kentucky nursing licenses are renewed between September 15th and October 31st.
Are there any mandatory continuing education requirements for Kentucky Registered nurses?
There are several one-time continuing education requirements. This includes a 2-hour course on suicide prevention, a 1.5 hour course on pediatric abusive head trauma if the nurse graduated from a nursing program outside of Kentucky or graduated from a Kentucky program prior to December of 2011, a 3-hour course on domestic violence if the nurse graduated from a nursing program outside of Kentucky or graduated from a Kentucky program prior to May 1998, and a LPN Infusion therapy course for nurses who graduated outside of Kentucky or graduated from a Kentucky program prior to September 15, 2019. Again, all of these requirements are one-time requirements.
