When is the nurse re-licensure deadline for Maryland Advanced Practice Registered nurses?
Maryland licenses expire on the 28th of the licensee’s birth month. Licensees will be able to renew 90 days before and 30 days after the license expires.
Are there any mandatory continuing education requirements for Maryland Advanced Practice Registered nurses?
APRNs that prescribe dangerous controlled substances must take a 2-hour course on the dispensing and prescribing of dangerous controlled substances.
Beginning with DEA initial registrations or renewals starting June 27, 2023, all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders) are required to complete 8 hours of one-time training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.
