North Carolina APRN License Renewal Requirements
North Carolina Advanced Practice Registered Nurses are required to maintain national certification or complete continuing education hours. The number of hours depends on your particular specialty. Nurse Practitioners are required to maintain national certification or complete fifty (50) continuing education hours, twenty (20) of which must be approved by the ANCC. APRNs with prescriptive authority must complete a 1-hour course on safe prescribing practices. See the North Carolina Board of Nursing for more information.
