Expiration Date: 09/23/2029
The Ohio Nurse Practice Act is a set of rules and regulations that define certification and licensure, pre-licensure education, discipline, and the standards of nursing practice for licensed nurses and certified medication aides in Ohio. The primary goal of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act is public safety, and to that end, it requires nurses to maintain their skills and knowledge. It also defines deficient and harmful practice. Information on the Nurse Practice Act is also in the Ohio Revised Code (ORC). The ORC is a list of revisions that expand on the Administrative Code and the Nurse Practice Act. The standards of practice will be discussed for Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses.
