Course Summary

Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that is used for the treatment of partial onset seizures, as well as for treatment of post-herpetic neuralgia, peripheral diabetic neuropathy, restless legs syndrome, and is used off-label for a wide variety of other health conditions. Important benefits of gabapentin include beneficial effects on sleep interference, fatigue, and depression, as well as quality of life, function, and work. A basic pharmacological understanding of gabapentin includes off-label uses of the drug and recommendations related to overdose.
