Course Summary

The prevalence of certain eating disorders in Hispanic Americans may or may not be noticeably different than other ethnic groups but the causes and motivating forces for eating disorders in Hispanic Americans may differ. A clinician may strengthen the diagnostic process for Hispanic Americans by accounting for cultural differences that may be peculiar to these patients. In addition, there may be unique acculturation issues that arise when Hispanics interact with other ethnicities or cultures within America.
