Course Description
Nurses are required to be knowledgeable about how thrombocytopenia occurs. ITP, idiopathic thrombocytopenia, is a cause of thrombocytopenia that nurses need to understand and be able to educate patients about in terms of bleeding risk and disease management. The purpose of this course is to help nurses develop an understanding of the treatment of thrombocytopenia, specifically idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), as well as the bleeding precautions in patients with thrombocytopenia.
